th Annual Meeting of Presidents of the National Chambers of Auditors from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland was held on 1-3 June 2007 in Książ near Wrocław.

FEE Meeting in w Warsaw
On 16 September 2005, the meeting of Presidents of FEE Member Bodies took place in Poland for the
first time. The National Chamber of Statutory Auditors (KIBR) hosted the meeting. The conference
covered the plenary sessions entitled as follows: Accountants in Society, Statutory Audit
Regulation - Modernising the Eighth Directive and After? and Financial Reporting Architecture - New
Developments? The meeting gathered 70 outstanding participants from the whole Europe, among others:
David Devlin, FEE President. Poland was represented by Members of the KIBR Executive Committee and
representatives of the Ministry of Finance: Stanisław Stec, Secretary of State and Joanna Dadacz,
Director of the Accounting Department. The FEE Executive meeting will took place in Warsaw on the
day before the event.

Information
The first agreement was signed on 14 October 2003 concerning accepting exams passed in Warsaw School
of Economics (SGH) by the Examinations Committee. The agreement is the accomplishment of an item of
the Law on auditors and their self-governing body, according to which the Commission can exempt a
candidate for statutory auditor from exams in subjects covered by qualifying conduct, if he/she has
passed academic or equivalent exams in this area.
The agreement covers the exams conducted in writing, anonymously, in subjects for which the training
program meets qualification requirements for candidates for statutory auditors. There is a possibility
of exempting from the exam provided that a candidate has presented a proper application and passed an
academic exam with at least a good note, and the period between passing an exam and presenting an
application has not been longer than 3 years. In compliance with the agreement, the Examinations
Committee is allowed to examine didactic trainings and exams in subjects covered by the agreement.

The National Council of Statutory Auditors is pleased to inform that the Accounting Standards Committee
published the resolution no 5/03 of 22 July 2003 on adopting the National Accounting Standard no 1
"Cash Flows Statements" in the Finance Minister Official Journal dated 29 August 2003 No 12, item 69.
The National Accounting Standard no 1 "Cash Flows Statements" was also published at the Ministry
of Finance website,
www.mf.gov.pl.

3rd Annual Meeting
of the Presidents of the National
Chambers of Auditors
from the Visehrad Group Countries
The 3
rd Annual Meeting of the Presidents of the Chambers of Statutory Auditors
from: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland was held on 29 - 30 May 2003 in Cracow during which
the representatives from particular countries presented actual issues on auditing profession.
In particular, discussions concerned national training systems as well as audit profession oversight systems
in each country. Jacques Potdevin, FEE Vice-President presented advantages and obligations of the FEE membership.
He emphasized the role and position of this organisation as the most important partner of the European Commission on
accounting and auditing issues. In particular, he called for active participation to the works of
FEE working groups and emphasized that the FEE membership increases the representativeness of each national institution
in its relations with national public authorities. Jacques Potdevin delivered to the meeting participants
the Communication from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament on Reinforcing
the statutory audit in the EU. The Communication will be published in KIBR Bulletin.

KIBR in Accounting Standards Committee
Representatives of the National Chamber of Statutory Auditors became members of the Accounting Standards
Committee created by the Minister of Finance in accordance with the Accounting Act. The members of the
Committee representing the National Chamber of Statutory Auditors are: Danuta Krzywda, Zbigniew
Messner, who is the Chairman of the Committee, Antoni Reczek, Piotr Rojek and Jadwiga Szafraniec.

Admission to
FEE - European Federation
of Accountans
(Federation des Experts Comptables Europeens)
The FEE General Assembly was held on 19 December 2002 during which the voting took place about admission
as FEE full member (called ’ordinary member’) of the National Chamber of Statutory Auditors from
Poland as well as of the Chambers from: the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. The Polish National
Chamber of Statutory Auditors became FEE member unanimously. KIBR was represented in the meeting by:
Piotr Rojek, President of the National Council of Statutory Auditors and Danuta Krzywda,
Deputy President.

Admission to
IFAC - International Federation of Accountants
Accomplishing admission in November 2001 of the National Chamber of Statutory Auditors to
the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) located in New York was the greatest success of
the bodies of the third term of office, especially of the National Council of Statutory Auditors.
It has been the basic postulate of the Statutory Auditors’ environment, to get admission to this organisation,
since calling the 1
st Assembly. Thanks to this membership the National Chamber
of Statutory Auditors belongs to the international accountant family and Polish Statutory Auditors
can benefit from their foreign colleagues’ experiences and attainments, the proof for which there was a
numerous participation of Polish Statutory Auditors in the 16
th World Congress of Accountants
held in November 2002 in Hong Kong.
The Congress theme, considered in plenary sessions, workshops and expositions on accountant
profession, was: "Knowledge-based Economy and the Accountant".
